Winning Ways - What were the keys to victory for Obama?

Winning Ways
What were the keys to victory for Obama?

New Mom Names Baby After President-Elect Barack Obama

HOLLYWOOD, Fla — Barack Obama may have a "funny name," as he once said — but it might just catch on among the nation's newborns.

A Florida couple became among the country's first to bestow it on their child, even before most had declared the Illinois senator the president-elect.

Sanjae Obama Fisher was born at 8 p.m. EST at Hollywood's Memorial Regional Hospital to Patrick and Sasha Hall Fisher.

A hospital spokeswoman says it was the father's idea. But mom still got to watch the election, after 14 hours at the hospital.

Sanjae has two siblings, 8-year-old sister Shaniah and 4-year-old brother Shane.

President Obama

Jurriaan Kamp,
I agree! You did a great job writing this. I love it and had to share it with everyone!

President Obama

The tears in the eyes of Jesse Jackson. That was the most moving moment for me. His face spoke the defining moment in history. Injustice fading into hope. And please watch this once more. Barack Obama lost a grandmother just before the election. He still has another grandmother. It's almost unbelievable that the president of the most powerful nation in the world has a grandmother living in rural Kenya.

For me, more than anything else, that's his promise to the world. Where the world of the White House meets rural Kenya, that's where progress is made and the future is changed.

President Obama's Victory Speech

Barack Obama’s Victory Speech

Below are Barack Obama’s remarks as prepared for delivery tonight in Chicago:

If there is anyone out there who still doubts that America is a place where all things are possible; who still wonders if the dream of our founders is alive in our time; who still questions the power of our democracy, tonight is your answer.

It’s the answer told by lines that stretched around schools and churches in numbers this nation has never seen; by people who waited three hours and four hours, many for the very first time in their lives, because they believed that this time must be different; that their voice could be that difference.

It’s the answer spoken by young and old, rich and poor, Democrat and Republican, black, white, Latino, Asian, Native American, gay, straight, disabled and not disabled – Americans who sent a message to the world that we have never been a collection of Red States and Blue States: we are, and always will be, the United States of America.

It’s the answer that led those who have been told for so long by so many to be cynical, and fearful, and doubtful of what we can achieve to put their hands on the arc of history and bend it once more toward the hope of a better day.

It’s been a long time coming, but tonight, because of what we did on this day, in this election, at this defining moment, change has come to America.

I just received a very gracious call from Senator McCain. He fought long and hard in this campaign, and he’s fought even longer and harder for the country he loves. He has endured sacrifices for America that most of us cannot begin to imagine, and we are better off for the service rendered by this brave and selfless leader. I congratulate him and Governor Palin for all they have achieved, and I look forward to working with them to renew this nation’s promise in the months ahead.

I want to thank my partner in this journey, a man who campaigned from his heart and spoke for the men and women he grew up with on the streets of Scranton and rode with on that train home to Delaware, the Vice President-elect of the United States, Joe Biden.

I would not be standing here tonight without the unyielding support of my best friend for the last sixteen years, the rock of our family and the love of my life, our nation’s next First Lady, Michelle Obama. Sasha and Malia, I love you both so much, and you have earned the new puppy that’s coming with us to the White House. And while she’s no longer with us, I know my grandmother is watching, along with the family that made me who I am. I miss them tonight, and know that my debt to them is beyond measure.

To my campaign manager David Plouffe, my chief strategist David Axelrod, and the best campaign team ever assembled in the history of politics – you made this happen, and I am forever grateful for what you’ve sacrificed to get it done.

But above all, I will never forget who this victory truly belongs to – it belongs to you.

I was never the likeliest candidate for this office. We didn’t start with much money or many endorsements. Our campaign was not hatched in the halls of Washington – it began in the backyards of Des Moines and the living rooms of Concord and the front porches of Charleston.

It was built by working men and women who dug into what little savings they had to give five dollars and ten dollars and twenty dollars to this cause. It grew strength from the young people who rejected the myth of their generation’s apathy; who left their homes and their families for jobs that offered little pay and less sleep; from the not-so-young people who braved the bitter cold and scorching heat to knock on the doors of perfect strangers; from the millions of Americans who volunteered, and organized, and proved that more than two centuries later, a government of the people, by the people and for the people has not perished from this Earth. This is your victory.

I know you didn’t do this just to win an election and I know you didn’t do it for me. You did it because you understand the enormity of the task that lies ahead. For even as we celebrate tonight, we know the challenges that tomorrow will bring are the greatest of our lifetime – two wars, a planet in peril, the worst financial crisis in a century. Even as we stand here tonight, we know there are brave Americans waking up in the deserts of Iraq and the mountains of Afghanistan to risk their lives for us. There are mothers and fathers who will lie awake after their children fall asleep and wonder how they’ll make the mortgage, or pay their doctor’s bills, or save enough for college. There is new energy to harness and new jobs to be created; new schools to build and threats to meet and alliances to repair.

The road ahead will be long. Our climb will be steep. We may not get there in one year or even one term, but America – I have never been more hopeful than I am tonight that we will get there. I promise you – we as a people will get there.

There will be setbacks and false starts. There are many who won’t agree with every decision or policy I make as President, and we know that government can’t solve every problem. But I will always be honest with you about the challenges we face. I will listen to you, especially when we disagree. And above all, I will ask you join in the work of remaking this nation the only way it’s been done in America for two-hundred and twenty-one years – block by block, brick by brick, calloused hand by calloused hand.

What began twenty-one months ago in the depths of winter must not end on this autumn night. This victory alone is not the change we seek – it is only the chance for us to make that change. And that cannot happen if we go back to the way things were. It cannot happen without you.

So let us summon a new spirit of patriotism; of service and responsibility where each of us resolves to pitch in and work harder and look after not only ourselves, but each other. Let us remember that if this financial crisis taught us anything, it’s that we cannot have a thriving Wall Street while Main Street suffers – in this country, we rise or fall as one nation; as one people.

Let us resist the temptation to fall back on the same partisanship and pettiness and immaturity that has poisoned our politics for so long. Let us remember that it was a man from this state who first carried the banner of the Republican Party to the White House – a party founded on the values of self-reliance, individual liberty, and national unity. Those are values we all share, and while the Democratic Party has won a great victory tonight, we do so with a measure of humility and determination to heal the divides that have held back our progress. As Lincoln said to a nation far more divided than ours, “We are not enemies, but friends…though passion may have strained it must not break our bonds of affection.” And to those Americans whose support I have yet to earn – I may not have won your vote, but I hear your voices, I need your help, and I will be your President too.

And to all those watching tonight from beyond our shores, from parliaments and palaces to those who are huddled around radios in the forgotten corners of our world – our stories are singular, but our destiny is shared, and a new dawn of American leadership is at hand. To those who would tear this world down – we will defeat you. To those who seek peace and security – we support you. And to all those who have wondered if America’s beacon still burns as bright – tonight we proved once more that the true strength of our nation comes not from our the might of our arms or the scale of our wealth, but from the enduring power of our ideals: democracy, liberty, opportunity, and unyielding hope.

For that is the true genius of America – that America can change. Our union can be perfected. And what we have already achieved gives us hope for what we can and must achieve tomorrow.

This election had many firsts and many stories that will be told for generations. But one that’s on my mind tonight is about a woman who cast her ballot in Atlanta. She’s a lot like the millions of others who stood in line to make their voice heard in this election except for one thing – Ann Nixon Cooper is 106 years old.

She was born just a generation past slavery; a time when there were no cars on the road or planes in the sky; when someone like her couldn’t vote for two reasons – because she was a woman and because of the color of her skin.

And tonight, I think about all that she’s seen throughout her century in America – the heartache and the hope; the struggle and the progress; the times we were told that we can’t, and the people who pressed on with that American creed: Yes we can.

At a time when women’s voices were silenced and their hopes dismissed, she lived to see them stand up and speak out and reach for the ballot. Yes we can.

When there was despair in the dust bowl and depression across the land, she saw a nation conquer fear itself with a New Deal, new jobs and a new sense of common purpose. Yes we can.

When the bombs fell on our harbor and tyranny threatened the world, she was there to witness a generation rise to greatness and a democracy was saved. Yes we can.

She was there for the buses in Montgomery, the hoses in Birmingham, a bridge in Selma, and a preacher from Atlanta who told a people that “We Shall Overcome.” Yes we can.

A man touched down on the moon, a wall came down in Berlin, a world was connected by our own science and imagination. And this year, in this election, she touched her finger to a screen, and cast her vote, because after 106 years in America, through the best of times and the darkest of hours, she knows how America can change. Yes we can.

America, we have come so far. We have seen so much. But there is so much more to do. So tonight, let us ask ourselves – if our children should live to see the next century; if my daughters should be so lucky to live as long as Ann Nixon Cooper, what change will they see? What progress will we have made?

This is our chance to answer that call. This is our moment. This is our time – to put our people back to work and open doors of opportunity for our kids; to restore prosperity and promote the cause of peace; to reclaim the American Dream and reaffirm that fundamental truth – that out of many, we are one; that while we breathe, we hope, and where we are met with cynicism, and doubt, and those who tell us that we can’t, we will respond with that timeless creed that sums up the spirit of a people:

Yes We Can. Thank you, God bless you, and may God Bless the United States of America.President O

John McCain's Concession Speech

McCain Warmly Congratulates Obama

Elizabeth Holmes reports from Phoenix on the presidential race.

John McCain conceded the election to Barack Obama, ending a nearly two-year long campaign for the Arizona senator.

The Republican presidential candidate had no introduction. He simply stepped to the microphone and graciously congratulated his Democratic opponent on his victory.

“In a contest as long as difficult as this campaign has been his success alone commands my respect,” McCain said to a chorus of boos. He repeatedly urged the crowd to stop with a “please.”

McCain offered nothing but praise for Obama, despite a bitter battle which included repeated attacks from both sides. “I wish Godspeed to the man who was my former opponent and will be my president,” McCain said.

The rowdy audience on the lawn in the middle of the Arizona Biltmore hotel wasn’t feeling the same. They booed repeatedly and yelled profanities at the mention of Obama. “Bullshit!” one man yelled.

McCain, joined on stage by running mate Sarah Palin, continued his goodwill speech despite the crowd’s reaction. “I urge all Americans who supported me to join me in not just congratulating him but offering our next president our good will and earnest effort to find ways to come together,” he said.

McCain also made note of the moment in history he was part of—the first time an African American was elected to the Oval Office. He remarked on how far the country had come since President Theodore Roosevelt invited of Booker T. Washington to the White House more than a century ago.

“America today is a world away from the cruel…bigotry of that time. There is no better evidence of this than the election of an African American to the presidency of the United States,” McCain said. “Let there be no reason now for any American to fail to cherish their citizenship in this the greatest nation on earth.”

Several senior aides have said throughout the day that McCain was running in the toughest environment possible, what with the unpopularity of President George W. Bush and the Republican Party as a whole—compounded by the recent economic turmoil.

McCain wasn’t out to blame anything specific during his concession speech. “I don’t know what more we could’ve done to try and win this election,” McCain said. “Every candidate makes mistakes and I’m sure I made my share of ‘em.”

He did take time to thank his campaign staff, including campaign manager Rick Davis, senior strategist Steve Schmidt and his close friend, Mark Salter. “Thank you so much, a lost election can never mean more to me than the privilege of your faith and friendship.”

Obama-mania

I am do glad to be able to witness this history changing moment. This is such an emotional time for all of us. We either got who we voted for or we didn't. In my case, I got my "wish". I say this because when I go and vote, it's like making a wish. And it came true tonight.

My wish for Barack Obama is that he will stay true to his words and make this world a better place. Yes, I understand that he is not a super-hero, but he is the closest thing to one that we have right now.

I know, they are all politicians. But I really believed Barack's words, promises and plans. I am hoping that the politician in him will not prevail and the man he is and the dreams that he has will.

This just goes to prove that the good will win and that ALL men are created equal. As Martin Luther King said, "Change does not roll in on the wheels of inevitability, but comes through continuous struggle. And so we must straighten our backs and work for our freedom."

And this goes perfect for Obama's change. I can't wait to see what is to come of all this. I finally feel like I can breathe. Jobs will be better, the economy will get better and the world will be a better place. In time. Nothing happens overnight. I hope that I am not rushing things, but we need change now!

My hopes for the new president is that he will listen to us. He is connected enough with us to read our emails and on social networking sites. Hopefully, whoever it is that is in charge of these accounts, they will bring our concerns to the new president and he will find a way to make things more bearable.
"You hear our voices, you need our help."

"A government of the people and by the people has not parished. This is our victory!"

Please, don't let us down. "We as a people will get there". Yes we can!
"Let us look not only after ourselves, but after each other." "We are not enemies, but friends."

God Bless America!
ALL men are created equal. Welcome President Barack Obama. gObama!!!
The fat lady hasn't sung yet, but we can hear her clear her throat as Obama is in a little bit of a lead!

365 Ways To Kiss Your Love

To melt a girl’s heart, it is known that love poetry will do the trick.

When you find the girl of your dreams, you need to make sure that you know how to kiss her properly. Here are 365 ways to kiss your love.
- 1 - ICE KISS
Celebrate the first day of winter with an ice kiss. Put an ice cube in your mouth until your mouth becomes cold. Remove the cube, track down your love and plant a kiss that will send chills!

- 2 - ELECTRIC SHOCK KISS
The two of you shuffle your feet furiously on carpet. When you both have an electric charge, lean over and slowly aim for each other's lips. With your lips about one-half inch apart, move in even slower until a spark jumps between the two of you. Instantly after this happens, kiss one another...the please us the kiss right after the shock!

- 3 - CAMPING KISS
On a beautiful cool night, you and your love crawl into a sleeping bag outside. Cuddle and kiss.

- 4 - REWARD KISS
Next time your love performs some disliked home chore like cleaning the bathroom, mowing the lawn, or taking out the garbage, show your appreciation by tucking a candy kiss in a strategic location.

- 5 - POST-IT KISS
Use 3M Post-It notes to make a trail through your house that leads to your lips. Put a lipstick print or lip symbol on each note with an arrow pointing to the next note. You, of course, are at the end of the trail with a Post-It note over your lips that says, "LIFT FOR KISS"

- 6 - KISSING IN THE RAIN
The next time it rains, grab an umbrella, rain coats, and your love. Then go outside and kiss in the rain. If the spirit of the kiss moves you, remove the umbrella and kiss 'till the two of you are soaked.

- 7 - HERSHEY`S KISSES
Prepare a small bag of Hershey`s kisses and slip it into your love's purse, briefcase, or lunchbox. Attach a note that reads "SORRY, I CAN'T BE THERE IN PERSON, BUT THINK OF ME AND DO THE FOLLOWING: Close your eyes and place the candy between your lips. Drop the candy in your mouth and roll it on your tongue until it melts.

- 8 - TRACY AND HEPBURN KISS
Make flash cards, and the two of you re-enact the following kissing scene from WOMAN OF THE YEAR:

(1942): (Reclining face to face on a couch, woman on top.)
SAM: Something I've got to get off my chest.
TESS: I'm too heavy?
SAM: I love you.
TESS: Me, too.
SAM: Positive.
TESS: That's nice. Even when I'm sober?
SAM: Even when you're brilliant. (The two of you kiss.)

- 9 - KISSES IN A BALLOON
Cut out small red tissue lips, and place them inside an opaque balloon filled with helium (any party store could do this for you) Tie the balloon to your love's chair at dinner. Desert is a shower of kisses delivered by a sharp pin.

- 10 - TOLL KISS
Next time you are driving your love somewhere, stop the car before crossing a bridge or going through a tunnel, and say the toll must be paid before you can go any further. Of course, the toll cost in one kiss.

- 11 - MORSE CODE KISS
If you know Morse code, great, If not, this is a great way to learn. Find a Morse Code chart. Using long and short kisses, spell out a message to your love and have him or her try to decipher them.

- 12 - KISSING METER KISSES
We have parking meters, so why not kissing meters? Turn a box into your own kissing meter and wear it around your neck. Give your love kissing tokens to start your kissing meter. Have an "expired" sign appear when you need another kiss.

- 13 - AUDIO STIMULATION
Make a cassette of kissing noises and place in your love's cassette player (walkman, car or home) with a note attached.

- 14 - BREAKFAST IN BED KISS
Slip out of bed early and prepare a special "Kissing" breakfast to serve to your love in bed. Pick foods that you can easily pick up and feed to your love. Kiss between bites!

- 15 - STAIRWELL KISS
This kiss is to be done at a party or at a gathering with your love. Steal away to a private location like behind a door or tree, or on the stairwell and passionately kiss each other. The risk of being discovered in the act is the key element.

- 16 - SCUBA KISSING
Wearing a diving mask and fins, simulate swimming underwater. Snorkel across the room to your love and kiss him or her.

'Good Samaritan' saves crying woman's foreclosed home

Tracy Orr sat in the back of the room and prepared to watch her foreclosed home go up for auction this past Saturday. That's when a pesky stranger sat down beside her and struck up a conversation.

"Are you here to buy a house?" Marilyn Mock said.

Orr couldn't hold it in. The tears flowed. She pointed to the auction brochure at a home that didn't have a picture. "That's my house," she said.

Within moments, the four-bedroom, two-bath home in Pottsboro, Texas, went up for sale. People up front began casting their bids. The home that Orr purchased in September 2004 was slipping away.

She stood and moved toward the crowd. Behind her, Mock got into the action.

"She didn't know I was doing it," Mock says. "I just kept asking her if [her home] was worth it, and she just kept crying. She probably thought I was crazy, 'Why does this woman keep asking me that?' "

Mock says she bought the home for about $30,000. That's when Mock did what most bidders at a foreclosure auction never do.

"She said, 'I did this for you. I'm doing this for you,' " Orr says. "When it was all done, I was just in shock."

"I thought maybe her and her husband do these types of things to buy them and turn them. She said, 'No, you just look like you needed a friend.' "

"All this happened within like 5 minutes. She never even asked me my name. She didn't ask me my financial situation. She had no idea what [the house] looked like. She just did it out of the graciousness of her heart, just a 'Good Samaritan,' " Orr says. "It's amazing."

Orr says she had taken out a mortgage of $80,000 in 2004 when she first bought the home. At the time, she says she worked for the U.S. Postal Service. But she lost her job a month after taking out the loan when she says the Post Office fired her over a DWI while off-duty. She says a wrongful termination lawsuit is pending.

Without a job, she fell behind on her home payments. She sold some property in 2006 for $12,000 and paid it to the mortgage company, thinking she had done enough to save herself from foreclosure -- but to no avail, she says.

"It's just been a bad deal," says Orr, who now works at All Saints Camp and Conference Center, a Christian group with ties to the Episcopal Diocese of Dallas, Texas.

With the foreclosure auction approaching, she planned to make the nearly 80-mile drive to Dallas this past Saturday with an investor friend. But she says he ditched her at the last-minute. She went to the auction with her family, and suddenly found herself in the back with Mock.

"I always talk to everyone around me," Mock says. "I mean you can always find out all kinds of interesting things when you talk to people around you. So I just asked her, 'Are you here to buy a house?' "

Mock, who is known as the "Rock Lady" for her small business selling flagstone and other rocks in Rockwall, Texas, says she went to the auction with her 27-year-old son to help him buy his first home. He bought his home, and soon afterward Mock came across Orr.

Mock says she's using one of her business dump trucks as collateral for the $30,000 sale price. "I can't afford to just give [the house] to her," she says.

As for Orr's payments, Mock says, "We'll just figure out however much she can pay on it. That way, she can have her house back."

Why be so generous?

"She was just so sad. You put yourself in their situation and you realize you just got to do something," says Mock, who says she has trouble walking by homeless people on the street and not helping them out.

"If it was you, you'd want somebody to stop and help you."

When she told her husband of 30 years that she'd just bought a home for a stranger, she says his reaction was: "Whatever."

"He's used to it," she says with a booming laugh.

Mock says she's excited for another reason too. Orr's house is located near a Texas fishing hot-spot. "She says I can come up there and fish, and I love to fish!"

Orr, who nearly lost her home, says her newfound friend has "given me back faith and hope to keep going and hold my head up."

"Things happen for a reason," Orr says.

Free Popcorn @ Ace Hardware

Today we went to Ace Hardware a.k.a. Rocky's on Island Pond Road in Springfield for a few things. While we were there, I could smell the great smell of popcorn. As we began to recognize that smell and begin to salivate, we saw the popcorn machine they had near the checkout line. The sign on it said: Free popcorn to go with your shopping (or something like that). So, we grabbed a bag that was on the top of the popcorn machine and began to fill it. As we did, an employee told us to help ourselves. What a nice surprise and great way to break up the day. The popcorn was delicious and I am looking for a reason to go back!
And now that Halloween is over, we took apart the pumpkins and are baking the seeds right now. They certainly smell good. For the first time ever, I have baked them without burning them. Who knew it would take so many years to perfect cooking them!

Just got home.

how facebook can help you save lives

Yes, it's true. You can use this social networking site for more than posting cute party pics!

Oh, the guilt you feel when you log on and spend ours lurking at people you haven't seen in years! We call this "Facebook remorse." But you can turn that Facebook frown upside down -- and actually do something productive with your social site time -- by simply adding an application.
"Takes All Types" is a Facebook button that you just add to your profile. If you sign up as a blood donor, you'll receive texts or e-mails letting you know when your blood type is needed in your area. Click here for more info. Trust us, visiting your ex-boyfriend's page will come with a lot less guilt if you do!

So much to say, So little time

I know that I should be blogging more, but haven't. I have so much to say lately that I think I feel overwhelmed. I can really write when I get going and Shawn always teases me and asks me if I am writing a book. Some of my previous posts were, to me, quite lengthy. As I am almost sure that they were for you, too.
Just wondering who is reading what you think? Do you agree or what do you have to say?

(Lil) Green Patch Requests

You have 236 (lil) green patch requests. That's what My Facebook said when I logged on there and saw my friend requests.
I am glad that the (Lil) Green Patch Requests aren't allowing me to send flowers as gifts to my facebook friends. I am so tired of doing that. I must have sent out atleast 100 of them. This must be annoying someone. But it is making me do it to be able to accept the flower; I have to send one to a friend. I send a flower back to the person that sent me one. Receive a gift, Give a gift. I admit, I blatantly ignored my requests. I just didn't feel like allowing another application run on my page. On every site, there are so many. Some show up on your page and others only you can see. It is becoming chaos for me and VERY time consuming.
So, this week, I decided to get my friend requests and application requests out of queue.
200 requests accepted and 36 more to go.
I am sitting here drinking a nice cold beer, downloading Perfect World and Project Torque and accepting my friend request's on Facebook.

Also, another thing...I am using my laptop. I think the computer has gotten it's years and use. It is tired; Very Very Tired.

It is funny to see how your mind can be trained, because when I was on the other computer, it would shut itself off, unbeknownst to anyone and usually when you are in the middle of something of importance. This trained my ears to listen for little sounds that the computer would make to signal to me that it is shutting off RIGHT NOW. So, now I sit on my laptop, waiting out of habit, for it to shut down. If the page takes a certain amount of time; I am prepared for it to happen...and then it doesn't. It just goes to show that we are creatures of habit and that even an old dog can be taught new tricks! :)
Enjoying drinking a beer, downloading Perfect World and Project Torque. Life is good.

And the moral is the same: slow and steady wins the race.

The Tortoise and the Hare. And the moral is the same: slow and steady wins the race. Focus on the task at hand, single-mindedly see it through, and the gold can be yours!

After an almost gruelling summer of trying to get my car fixed, my mission has finally been accomplished. I finally got my check from doing an MTV event at Six Flags. That money was used to get my knock sensor on my car, which was causing my check engine light to be on. This was causing my car from passing inspection. The problem was that when my car was due for inspection, someone had hit my car while I was at a Big Brother and The Holding Company concert. I guess that is Murphy's Law in effect.

I only had basic coverage on my car and was lucky enough to get that fixed by Rick's Auto Body. Which you can read about that in this earlier post.

I had planned on getting the check engine light fixed and had went to the local auto part store so that they could hook up the scanner to my car to find out the code(s) that was keeping my check engine light on and to find out if it needed to be special ordered and how much it would be. It was $93.44 including tax. So, I knew to put aside that much money to get the part. Today was the day to get it. When I called the store and spoke to someone there, they recommended me to a local place that I had no idea about. East Coast Swappers is the hidden gem in Springfield, MA.

I took pictures and will be posting them within the next day or two. So, make sure to check them out in my flickr.

East Coast Swappers is a local business in Springfield, MA and they fix mostly Subaru's. The racing ones, even. Did you know that in Connecticut and New York, they have courses you can race and drift? I had no idea, until today. I bought my knock sensor from them, which they pulled off one of their spare engines. How cool is that? They saved me $44.00. I brought it home and thought we could change it, but you need a torque wrench, which we do not own. So I called them back and told them I did not have a torque wrench to do this. He told me if I came back at 3, they would put it on for $20.00. This was still $24 cheaper than if I had bought that one part from the store.

Going there is like the shop in the movie, The Fast And The Furious. They had about 5 racing cars in there, all supped up, working on them. Either fixing what was wrong with them or adding in the extras to make the cars faster. I guess they install turbos and whatever you want to make your Subaru's performance even better and faster.

I called up Welker's Gulf Station today to find out how much inspection stickers were. I thought they were $35 and Shawn thought it was $50. In Massachusetts, they are $29.00. So the money they saved me, I am going to be able to get my inspection sticker. A much appreciated and big thank you to all the guys at East Coast Swappers. You have no idea...how much you saved me!

I talked to my friend, Jessica today. She lives in Mississippi. She told me that in MS, inspection stickers are $5. I wish they were that cheap here. I don't know why the price difference. She also told me that cigarettes there are under $5.00, as well.

Mission Accomplished: Got the knock sensor, got it installed, check engine light off and Petco done. Check. What's left? Inspection. The Bad News: It sounds like I have an exhaust leak.
On my way to get a knock sensor to fix my check engine light! And then off to work for 1 hour @ Petco. To be continued...the inspection sticker :)
